THE FRIDAY AFTERNOON DEBATE!

BRIDGE BIER HUIS.LANCASHIRE'S CAMRA PUB OF THE YEAR
There is summat different about a Friday afternoon visit to the local boozer. And I reckon there is a multitude of reasons for this.
The weekend is upon us, people finish work early. Or, in some cases, folk just like to start a session 'early doors'.
You know the score, down the local, Friday's are always lively early on! Unlike, the quieter parts of the week, there is always a buzz on a Friday. :-)
Simon(Landlord),Dave'Rodders'&Tony in debate
My local, at the Bridge Bier Huis in Burnley, is typical of the 'Friday Factor'. I walked in today, to be met by a barrage of friendly abuse from the 'Friday Corner Clan'. A jolly, educated and argumentative bunch, who gather on a Friday, to chew over a variety of topical subjects and issues.
One such subject on the agenda was my latest blog, where I had been a little contentious, and basically, had a rant about the beer duty escalator.
Ian in the corner gave me a barrage of friendly grief, and pulled me up on a few points! It's all friendly banter, voices raised, arms waving, and the odd, friendly, sarcastic comment from Dave'Rodders', the barman, on t'other side of the bar.
TAKING SOME FRIENDLY GRIEF FROM TONY
It was a reet 'ganging up' job, as Tony started to put his 'four pennies worth' in! Bloody hell, I was well under the cosh. However, I fended em off!
Tony and Ian are two great characters.Never a dull moment, talk is always rapid, interesting and intense! They have a great array of topical issues and subjects. Never a dull moment!
Colin and Gail arrive, two more members of the friendly, Friday gang. Trevor in the wings, offers more interesting chat, and makes up a 'famous five'.
Aye, the Friday afternoon debate at the Bridge Bier Huis. No doubt similar to many a boozer, up and down the nation. A fine way to enjoy a couple of fine ales, in friendly company. Long may the debate continue. :-)
