It's that time of year again. Witches, ghouls, black cats and cauldrons. Of course, Halloween is almost upon us. Trick or treat! The constant tap on the door. Love it or loathe it, Halloween is an annual event we endure!

I have to say the kids round our way always make an effort. And they wear some great outfits.

However, would you dress up in similar fashion, for a beer festival? Yes, I am being serious. Moorhouse's Brewery are having a Halloween beer festival on the 26th(6-11pm) and 27th October(12-11pm), at their visitors centre, Accrington Road in Burnley.

They are encouraging visitors to the festival to wear Witches and Wizards fancy dress to the event. And are offering a discount on entry, for those partaking!
Of course, the area is famous for the Pendle Witches. This year being of special significance, as it is the 400th anniversary  of 'The Witches' trial at Lancaster Castle in 1612. When ten poor souls were unjustly hanged for witchcraft.
On a happier note though, the festival will have over twenty beers, including Moorhouse's Halloween Beers.
Moorhouse's, as you probably know, name lots of their quality beers on the Pendle Witches theme. And there will be lots of these named beers associated with halloween.

Pendle Witch, Blond Witch,White Witch. Or may be a Witch Finder General, or a Broomstick Bitter. They are all superb tipples, from the Burnley brewer.

Moorhouses will even throw in a free tour of the brewery for your three quid entry fee. Or maybe you want to turn up as a witch or a wizard, and save a quid!
Are you brave enough then to turn up as a witch or wizard?
Whatever your dress, you are guaranteed excellent beer, a friendly welcome and excellent choice, at this festival with a difference. A superb venue, at their modern visitors centre.
The Halloween Beer Festival, a festival with a difference, whatever your dress sense!
