When almost thirty boozers a week are closing, it's good to hear of new pubs opening. One such 'drinking den' will open shortly in Padiham, East Lancs.
It will be an Irish theme bar, named Katy Kelly's. And will be situated at the former Kings Arms, that closed some years ago. It will open in the next 4-6 weeks.
Business man, John Duignan, is the man who has purchased the pub. He already owns another Irish themed boozer, namely, Pub Royale, in nearby Great Harwood.
Katy Kelly's will have six cask ales to welcome its new patrons. One permanent ale, will be from the Pictish Brewery, in Rochdale. The award-winning brewer roll out some great beers.
Looking forward to this addition to the real ale scene.
Also, the Hare and Hounds, Harle Syke, Burnley is re-opening( 5 cask ales). And a second micro-pub opens in Burnley town centre soon.
It's not all doom and gloom on the future of our valued drinking dens. :-)
