WILL SMOKING ROOMS STEM THE FLOW OF PUB CLOSURES ?

The introduction of smoking rooms will always be a contentious issue. However, could it help our beleaguered pub industry? I'm a non-smoker and it doesn't bother me too much. A well ventilated room should be fine - in my opinion.
I review lots of pubs and find many have well furnished and comfy 'smoking shelters'. They are  just like an extended room of the pub!
Do you agree with the introduction of smoking rooms in pubs? Will it stem the flow of pub closures? Is it a waste of time pursuing such legislation? Opinion appears split down the middle. Agree? Disagree?
